Admiralty Vector Chart Service - AVCS
Admiralty Vector Chart Service brings together electronic navigational charts (ENCs) from national hydrographic offices around the world and new electronic navigation chart coverage produced by the Admiralty (UKHO) in co-operation with Foreign Governments to provide comprehensive and official worldwide coverage.
The Admiralty Vector Chart Service is compatible with all type approved ECDIS and allows you to sail on ECDIS for the whole of most major routes. AVCS holds over 11,000 electronic navigation charts and includes coverage of most of the world’s biggest and busiest ports. Admiralty Vector Chart Service brings Admiralty chart quality direct to your ECDIS and is an ideal way to make the transition from paper to electronic navigation.
AVCS ensures safety at sea with official data, sailing berth-to-berth using one SOLAS compliant chart service. This simplifies and streamlines the entire process of chart selection, ordering and updating and gives you peace of mind that comes with Admiralty quality.
AVCS contains only electronic navigation chart data that meets SOLAS carriage requirements for use within Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS). Electronic Navigational Charts are digital vector charts produced to the International Hydrographic Organisations (IHO’s) standards (S57). They are referred to World Geodetic System 1984 Datum (WGS84) and are regularly updated with official update information distributed digitally.
Admiralty Raster Chart Service - ARCS
Admiralty Raster Chart Service produced by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, is the world’s leading electronic raster chart service. ARCS charts are exact digital copies of Admiralty paper charts, with the same appearance and internationally recognized symbols as the Admiralty paper chart series. This makes ARCS the easy first step from chart table to electronic navigation. ARCS charts are licensed on a chart-by-chart basis to so you only have to pay for the charts you need.
